With so many models lined up we needed to take the help of New Bern Chevrolet to understand more about what these trim levels with sub-trims mean and what each segment offers in the lineup of 2019 Chevrolet Camaro.
Camaro LS
This is the introductory model of the Camaro lineup with a seemingly humble sporty design on the outside. Underlying the hood is a beast of a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that achieves 275 hp and 295 lb-ft torque. This is accompanied by a 6-speed manual transmission which you can set aside and go in for the available 6-speed automatic transmission. You also have the option to go in for the 8-speed automatic with paddle shifters for some fine-tuned control. Camaro’s sport a curved front fascia with a bold wide stance and aerodynamic styling. Sitting on 18-inch high wheels adds graceful aggression. The inside is commissioned with a rear vision camera, 7-inch diagonal color touchscreen, 6-speaker audio system and connectivity through 4G LTE with Wi-Fi capability.

The LT series come in the 1LT, 2LT and 3LT trim levels. The LT get features that place it a notch above the LS by adding 6-way power adjustable front seats on the 1LT, leather appointed seats with heating and ventilation for the front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control from the 2LT and upwards and finally an upgraded 3.6-liter V6 engine on the 3LT that churns out 355 hp and 284 lb-ft of torque. Interiors get some upgrades too with a high-definition 8-inch color diagonal touchscreen, a Bose Audio System with nine speakers spread across the interiors and a premium Chevy Infotainment System with Navigation. Features such as Keyless open and start and Cruise control with steering mounted controls are standard.
Performance Focused Camaro SS
The SS segment is keenly focused on performance and takes this to a higher level through the fitment of a 455-hp, 6.2-liter V8 engine that provided 455 lb-ft of torque. As the engine gets bigger the SS series vehicles come with an external engine cooler. As the saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility going by which the addition of 20-inch wheels is complemented by 4-wheel Brembo performance disc brakes usually seen on vehicles frequenting the race track. On the front you have LED headlamps that have signature lighting, and on the rear, you get a stanchion spoiler. The 2SS is replete with all the 1SS features and additionally comes loaded with a head-up display, various safety alerts such as lane-change, rear cross-traffic and side blind-zone detection.
Pushing the Limits with the ZL1
L1 pushes the limits and comes with a supercharged 6.2L V8 engine that outputs 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Standard transmission consists of the 6-speed manual with Active Rev Matching and a 10-speed automatic with paddle shift is available as an option.
